Rapid Fire ?

Q. What Trader has influenced your career the most and why?
A. So influences I’d say Richard Russell was one of first most memorable participants. From there prob delves into everyone at one time or another.

Q. What was one of the hardest things for you to overcome in Trading?
A. Feeling like my equity gains/losses at anytime was a reflection of personal value. I think we still all are challenged with this but equity value, or any one days performance and allowing that to sit in my head as personal ‘worth’. There is tremendous randomness in markets and accepting that was/is a big issue to overcome imo.

Q. How has your trading process evolved over the years?
A. Gone from looking for ‘one’ sorta big trade to a much larger portfolio management process, multiple positions and risk levels, variety of factor exposures, and really allowing the market to develop within reasonable parameters (wider stops, longer time in trades etc)

Q. What is one attribute that you believe every trader should have?
A. Independent thinking, have to be able to not be afraid to come to own conclusions, defend them, and be wrong as well.

Q. If you had to pick a profession other than trading, what would it be?
A. Film finance and production. Mostly production because of the collaboration component and the art overall. Telling stories etc.

Q. What’s the best advice you received about Trading?
A. Making sure you are capitalized. Do not play the game under capitalized.

Q. If you can give a piece of advice to the younger you about trading, what would it be?
A. Focus on sustainability. Do not get caught up in the I said this and you said that and this happened. In the long run, if you are sustainable, you shouldn’t even really care what you said when, because you will often be wrong, its more about being sustainable and making it worthwhile.

Q. If you had to elevator pitch me your edge trading, what would you say?
A. Fiercely independent by nature, unique history w market. Outside of the tools and what not, was raised in different environment, and thrown into markets young

Q. Favorite thing to do when not Trading?
A. Spending time with my nephew (bit of a twitter joke). But in all seriousness, family and traveling for sure.
